I bought this cage for my son three weeks ago. We have never had a bunny and I didn't know what to get. It is very large, which is great for our Dwarf Netherland. The shelf is terrific and my bunny sleeps up there all the time. I will probably buy one more shelf since my bunny seems to hang out on it and only comes down to nibble on food and use the litter box. We put in a corner litter box and he is getting used to it, but still goes poo while eating. We use a child's flat sandbox shovel to scoop up poo pellets and put them in the litter box. The flat bottom of this cage makes that very simple. The latches are really easy to open, especially for children and the top opening is great since we have this on the floor. We didn't use the funnel food thing. I love the little bunny hanging toy to put hay inside. My bunny eats from it everyday. We also put hay in the top shelf bowl because it is too deep for pellets or water. We are getting another bunny next month for my other son and are purchasing another one of these cages as well as another corner litter box(a must!). Since ther floor is not slotted, you must get a litter box or the bunny will pee everywhere, which is not easy to clean up and gross for bunny to step in all day. Also, this rolls very easily to move for vacuuming the floor beneath and the exterior latches are relatively easy to open to take off the top cage part.
Also, I would recommend newspaper pellet litter, pet urine odor elimination that is added to water daily, newspaper bedding added to the litter box, and your own ceramic pet food and water bowls. Bunnies are easy to keep and really sweet.
